launch event in New York. Incorporating MMS (Multi
Media Messaging), Bluetooth™ technology and a detachable
camera with integrated flash, the S55 promises to
be the perfect companion for people living life
in the fast lane.The phone also has color display
and is tri-band, giving consumers the capability
to make calls from almost anywhere in the world. |
Designed to help seamlessly harmonize consumers’ private
and professional lives, the S55 also includes Java™
technology, an extended organizer, and flexible memory.
Packed with the latest technology, the slim and light
S55 looks set to be a big hit amongst style-conscious
consumers with busy schedules.
To
instantly capture and share inspiring moments from anywhere
in the world, the S55 is multimedia messaging (MMS)
enabled and taking pictures day and night is easy as
the QuickPic Camera IQP-500 with integrated flash is
available to purchase with this device. Displaying the
images on the vivid color screen, adding music and text
to the picture is simple, as is sending the MMS to another
mobile almost anywhere in the world. Over GPRS and the
integrated e-mail client images can also be sent from
phone to PC and can be displayed in a personal photo

Bluetooth™
technology and organizer software helps harmonize work
lives with social lives – no matter how hectic the schedule
is. The S55 automatically synchronizes contacts, business
and social schedules wirelessly with PCs and PDAs. And
its flexible memory lets you allocate space where you
need it most.
The
sleek S55 uses the latest Java™ technology, which means
there are plenty of practical business and fun entertainment
applications. Games, like Jet Ski, are preloaded along
with business and travel guides. There is even an animated
fitness instructor – Fit @ Work - to show you simple
exercises to keep you in shape whether you are at your
desk or in your hotel room.
To
personalize the S55, you can download other business,
entertainment and games software. Additional melodies
and music messages are also available to download to
help you make the most of the S55’s 16 chord polyphonic
ringtones.
Accessories
for the S55 are stylish and useful. The range includes
the Bluetooth™ headset, which allows users to communicate
freely and wirelessly. Light (25g), the headset fits
comfortably to the ear and has keys for voice dialing,
answering/ending calls and adjusting volumes from up
to 10 meters away. The introduction of the S55 also
sees the development of a new, innovative Car Kit Cradle.
Comprising two parts, the cradle can be adapted to accommodate
any Siemens phone in this series. Additionally there
are the basics like a carry case, car charger, desktop
charger and data cables for added convenience.
With
design a key focus, the S55 is small (101 x 42 x 18mm)
and light (85g), with intuitive handling and its easy
pictorial navigation system. With standby time of up
to 300 hours and talk time up to 360 minutes, it is
highly competitive in performance.
The
S55 will be available throughout Europe from December
2002, its Asian and American counterparts (S57, S56)
will be on the market in January 2003 and February 2003
respectively. The S55 will be competitively priced though
costs will vary across regions.
