November 2002 - Motorola, Inc will demonstrate the company's
latest hands-free automotive accessory portfolio next
week at the Specialty Equipment Market Association 2002
Show in Las Vegas, November 5 - 8, 2002. The portfolio
includes aftermarket Professional Car Kits, a Bluetooth(TM)
Car Kit and Headset, Self- Installed Car Kits and Vehicle
Power Accessories. The portfolio was designed for on-the-go
consumers and businesses that desire the convenience
of hands- free handset operation in their vehicles.
All of these solutions will be demonstrated during the
show in Motorola's booth, #11213.
Motorola's
latest in-vehicle portfolio offers a variety of solutions
for consumers who need to stay connected easily when
they are on the road," said Sue Fullman, Corporate Vice
President & General Manager for Motorola's Personal
Communications Sector. "We believe these wireless products
offer drivers tremendous benefits when used with good
driving judgment and are excited to showcase Motorola's
latest in-vehicle collection during SEMA 2002."
Motorola's
Bluetooth(TM) Wireless Car Kit, a CES 2002 Innovations
Honoree, transforms a Bluetooth(TM)-enabled mobile phone
into a wireless in-vehicle communications system. With
the new Bluetooth(TM) Car Kit from Motorola professionally
installed, owners can simply start their vehicle and
the car kit will automatically connect securely to their
mobile phone. The phone can be in a holster, on a belt,
on the front seat or anywhere in the vehicle, without
the need for wires or cords to make the connection.
The car kit's highly stylized back lit control panel
allows the user to interface and operate key features
such as volume adjustment, mute and voice recognition
accessing up to 100 voice tags. This car kit allows
seamless connectivity and universal interoperability
with any Bluetooth(TM) enabled mobile phone containing
either the Head Set or Hands Free audio profiles.
Motorola's
newly updated Professional Install Hands-free Car Kit
is ergonomically designed to enhance the in-vehicle
mobile communications experience. The enhanced audio
technology within the car kit reduces ambient noise,
providing a clearer communications experience. The replaceable
hang-up cup enables consumers to easily take their mobile
phone in and out, while offering a complement to the
vehicle cabin with handset charging and dead handset
battery/no handset battery operation.
The
uniquely designed Motorola Self-Install Hands-Free Car
Kit collection includes two products with retractable
cord operation - - a unique feature to the global marketplace
that supports varying levels of cord management. Motorola's
current Self Install Hands- Free solution offers two-watt
speaker output and retraction of the microphone and
handset cords. The newly released Retractable Self-
Install Hands-Free car Kit, expected to be available
this month, has microphone retraction, fast rate charging
and mounting hardware for placement in most vehicle
cup holders.
The
final product in the portfolio is the Vehicle Port Accessory,
which provides Motorola handsets with fast rate smart
charging, as well as offering added protection for handsets
and vehicle electronics, and dead handset battery operation.
