November 2002 -
Nokia Game 2002 has set a new record for the number
of player registrations. As of today, one million players
have registered to play this year's Nokia Game. In reaching
one million registrations, Nokia Game has reached its
maximum capacity for this year and joining the game
is no longer possible. Nokia considers this a fantastic
success.
Nokia
Game 2002 is an interactive adventure provided by Nokia
that will be played from 11 to 29 November in nine languages
across 25 countries. During the game, players receive
a mission that they must complete using clues and information
provided via the Internet, SMS, chat, interactive voice
response (IVR) calls and mini-movies distributed over
the web.
"We
are thrilled that one million players have registered
to play this year's Nokia Game. It has exceeded our
expectations and shows the excitement and community
spirit of playing with people from across Europe and
the Middle East," said Pekka Rantala, Vice President,
Marketing Services, Nokia Mobile Phones. "We wish all
of the players the best of luck as they try to navigate
the in and outs of the music business:"
At
the end of the game, the top 10-100 players in each
country will each win a special new Nokia 3650 phone
with integrated camera, video player and camcorder.
The winners will be among the first in their region
to own and use this new phone.
