March 2003 - Samsung Electronics is showcasing
at CeBIT its stylish and futuristic dual colour
LCD phone that expect to be a big hit in the European
market again in this year. The new dual colour
screen, 40 polyphonic, GPRS will appeal to business
people and consumers of Europe and Asia from the
beginning of March.
SAMSUNG’s
SGH-S300 phone supports EMS, WAP 1.2 and wireless
connectivity through an IrDA (Infrared Data Exchange)
interface. The phone is JAVA enabled, allowing
users to experience an enriched multimedia environment.

Jin Park, Senior Vice President and General Manger for
Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics,
said: "The SGH-S300 is designed to fill the gap in the
business phone market, so that international business
people, who frequently cross continents to work in Europe,
the US and Asia can stay in touch with a single phone."
The
phone weighs 70 grams and measures 80mm x 40mm x 20mm.
The phone’s inside screen has 65,000 colours and measures
128 x 128 pixels. The external screen measures 94 x
64 pixels and shows 256 colours. Since Samsung has begun
manufacturing digital mobile phones in 1996, the company
has constantly strengthened its market share and has
positioned itself as a high-end provider, supplying
high quality, stylish phones. A commitment to R&D and
design, combined with a determination to give consumers
the features they want, has consolidated Samsung’s position
as a top three global mobile handset manufacturer, according
to research published by Gartner Dataquest.
