throughout the world, today announces the launch of Roaming
Mate™ outbound travelers portal for mobile operators.
Roaming Mate is designed to enable mobile operators to
further enhance the roaming experience of their outbound
mobile phone users by providing travel information, dialing
assistance and valuable applications all in the roamer’s
native language. By greatly improving, yet simplifying
subscribers’ roaming experience when travelling,
Starhome enables operators to benefit from increased average
revenue per user (ARPU) while at the same time strengthen
customer loyalty.
Roaming Mate allows users to access a wide range of
information, relevant to their visited location and
personal profile, via a simple and easily navigated
interface with the look and feel of their operators’
portal. Users also get dialing assistance applications
such as home short codes to access services such as
voicemail, negating the need to re-program the phone
book with international dialing codes. In addition,
Roaming Mate provides access to local information, such
as weather, location of the nearest restaurants, events,
last minute deals and is able to receive promotional
information from the home operator, relevant to the
user’s profile and needs.
Roaming Mate unique technology and network interfaces
minimizes users required inputs and clicks making it
a true useful and pleasant experience for example the
automatic selection of visited country elimination the
need for the user to look for it in a long menu.
Traditionally, operators have invested heavily in roaming
services and technology. Roaming Mate leverages existing
infrastructure and Value Added Services, while encouraging
users to utilize handset functionality and GPRS.

GPRS roaming. Self provisioning is available for dedicated
roaming services, such as Roaming Missed Call Notification™
and HPMN specific services such as news and voicemail.
City Guides provide the relevant information sources
required by foreign travelers, including entertainment,
events, address finder and maps, as well as useful local
numbers and last minute deals.
Weather and Conversions provides up to date valuable
information including currency, translations, time zones
and measurement conversions.
Save Money offers promotions and deals from both home
operator and 3rd parties such as last minute deals and
loyalty programs.
Roaming Fun includes applications such as postcard
gallery, chat, ring tones and icons.
