What’s Next From Motorola? [Back to News Reports]

23rd March 2004 - Mobile broadband around the world. Crisp, clear, 1.2-megapixel digital-camera and video-playback capabilities. Worry-free, worldwide roaming. Wireless-network innovations that enhance and enable a robust, reliable and seamlessly mobile experience. A suite of new strategic alliances. All focused on expanding and enriching the wireless experience for consumers – and on creating and enabling new revenue streams for wireless operators. And, all brought to you today by Motorola, Inc. at CTIA Wireless 2004.

“Motorola announced several exciting new products and agreements today that strengthen our position in the global market place,” said Ed Zander, chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola. “Each is a step in our strategy to build a world of seamless mobility ... giving people robust, reliable and enriched wireless communications experiences at home, in the car, at work, and through all the spaces in between.”

At 10:00 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, 23 March, CEO Zander will share more about Motorola’s view of the world – focused on innovations, synergies and opportunities in wireless communications – with “MOTONEXT,” Motorola’s keynote address.

Innovations set to debut at CTIA Wireless 2004 ...

At CTIA Wireless 2004 today, Motorola announced the following products and agreements:

  • The Motorola A845, North America’s premier dual-mode UMTS/WCDMA handset, enabling mobile broadband for the continent.
  • The Motorola V710, featuring 1.2-megapixel digital-camera functionality in a compellingly stylish and feature-packed clamshell for CDMA networks.
  • The Motorola A840, the company’s first GSM/CDMA handset, bringing reliable global roaming to the global traveler.
  • The Motorola CDMA2000 1xEV-DO solution, increasing opportunity for operators looking to expand revenue streams through premium “must-have” services such as music, video, picture messaging and mobile broadband.
  • A broadened suite of hands-free, Bluetooth wireless technology offerings with a new in-vehicle system and a host of accessories, including the HS810 headset and the award-winning HF800 wireless speaker and DC600 Bluetooth-enabling adapter.
  • And, strategic alliances focused on secure and seamless mobility for the corporate enterprise with such leaders as EDS and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

All of Motorola’s newest introductions and innovations will be showcased through Wednesday at the Motorola booth, #3525, at CTIA Wireless 2004.
