Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the global industry standard operating system for smartphones, to the world’s leading handset manufacturers. According to Gartner, Symbian OS licensees account for over 85% of worldwide mobile phone sales and in 2003, more than 6.67million phones based on Symbian OS were shipped worldwide.

"This partnership reflects our commitment to the wireless market and our intent to build upon our mobile strategy," said Yair Shapira, CTO and VP Business Development, Flash Networks. "By becoming a Symbian Platinum Partner, we can further expand our NettGain range of solutions and strengthen our relationships with wireless users, application developers, device manufacturers and carriers. We are excited to join forces with Symbian to help drive demand for advanced mobile phone features that will dramatically improve the usability of wireless devices and accelerate mobile data adoption.”

Flash Networks’ NettGain solutions enable wireless operators to accelerate the adoption of mobile data by extensively enriching user experience over a broad network coverage while minimizing the operators’ cost. NettGain facilitates the provision of content-rich applications that are strategic for the wireless industry. By becoming a Symbian Platinum Partner, Flash Networks ensures the close integration of its NettGain solutions with Symbian OS advanced mobile phones, significantly improving service quality.

“There are more than 12 million Symbian OS based smartphones in daily use worldwide. Flash Networks’ NettGain product takes advantage of these powerful and widespread devices to improve service quality, making communication using Symbian OS based smartphones even better,” said Ian Weston, VP Partner Support. “We are pleased to have Flash Networks join the Symbian Platinum Program and bring its NettGain technology to the Symbian ecosystem.”
