| 21st June 2004 - PIKA Technologies is proud to announce
that PIKA MonteCarlo Software Developer Kit, Release 6.2,
is now available to application developers. This software
enhancement delivers VoIP functionality to PIKA Technologies
range of innovative analog and digital computer plug-in
boards. Release 6.2 gives application developers the option
to design next generation applications with voice, fax
and VoIP capabilities.
Using computer plug-in boards from PIKA Technologies
and PIKA MonteCarlo SDK 6.2, application developers
can easily and cost effectively incorporate converged
messaging functionality into new or existing applications.
Release 6.2 includes a single low-level, flexible application
programming interface (PIKA API) that works across all
PIKA boards.
The PIKA API gives developers the flexibility to allocate
any type of resource to any internal or external port,
the power to stream media anywhere in the system, and
the granularity to have the card do exactly what is
required. Developers can program each digital signal
processing (DSP) port to perform multiple simultaneous
tasks, thereby significantly improving system flexibility
and growth potential. This results in the development
of products with more intelligent voice, fax and VoIP
features.
PIKA Technologies has been a vendor to ICG for
almost a decade. We have utilized several models of
PIKA devices and technologies in our communications
platforms over the past years. Currently, we use PIKA
Daytona MM PCI analog cards in the communications systems
we manufacture for general aviation aircraft and cruise
ship applications, explains Armin Jabs, President,
ICG. Being a beta testing customer, permitted
ICG to get a head start with implementation of VoIP
services in our existing solutions. The technical support
we received from PIKA Technologies Customer Care
team throughout the beta program was exceptional. And
the addition of VoIP functionality to our solutions
ensures we continue to deliver advanced services to
mobile customers.
We invest heavily in our technology offerings,
said David Clarke, Head of Customer Care, PIKA Technologies.
Our R&D is dedicated to delivering the innovative
features and functionality application developers need
to stay competitive. And our Customer Care team is focused
on ensuring the success of every application developer
who makes the decision to design their solution with
PIKA boards and software.
David Clarke heads up PIKA Technologies Customer
Care team and has more than 10 years of experience in
the industry. David will be speaking at the VoIP Developer
Conference in San Jose, CA. The topic, How do
you load test this stuff, will deal with measuring
VoIP quality and network performance. The 45-minute
session is August 3 at 1:30.
