28th September 2004 - Zi Corporation is to unveil its
latest smartphone solutions at next week’s Symbian
Expo in London – including new developments in
its leading eZiText® and eZiTap™ predictive
text products, incorporating multi-language capability.
Zi Corporation comes to Symbian Expo (stand number
53) – the world’s largest smartphone show
in 2004 – with an impressive track record that
includes more than 40 language databases, an additional
70 language interfaces and the ability to meet texting
needs in more than 130 countries.
“Today’s smartphone users expect the best
technology and features in their handsets,” said
Glen Morgan, senior vice president of global sales and
marketing for Zi Corporation. “Features from Zi,
such as dual language messaging, next word prediction,
phrase prediction, and lingo entry and prediction are
all designed to improve the user experience of a mobile
phone.”

addition to our smartphone product portfolio.”
In addition to its texting solutions, Zi has further
extended its language capabilities with the introduction
of dual language messaging. Dual language capabilities
allow users to compose a message in a combination of
two languages using simultaneous text entry and prediction.
For example, a user would be able to input text in two
different languages without the need to change menus.
With dual language messaging, a user in the United Kingdom
can compose a message in German and then compose the
next message in English; or compose a single mixed language
message.
The original downloadable eZiTap FEP (Front End Processor)
was recently named “Best Productivity Application”
for the Symbian OS™ (Operating System) by Handango
in the 2004 Handango Champion Awards. The new Version
2 of the eZiTap FEP is now available and accessible
through Handango and its more than 100 download portalshttp:///.
Version 2, complete with several new unique features
to make text entry even faster and now available in
seven additional languages, works on the feature-rich
and highly successful Sony Ericsson P800 and P900 series
of smartphones.
