27th October 2004 - ZTE Corporation, supplier
of telecommunication equipment, has launched the
worlds smallest, lightest, and most compact
3G handset.
Announced at todays Expo Comm China exhibition
in Beijing, ZTEs F808 weighs only 104grams,
and measures 88.5mm x 44.6mm x 22.5mm. Its features
include voice, multimedia messaging and a built-in
rotatable 300,000 pixel camera. It can also provide
video phone capability, multimedia play and high
speed data download.
ZTE is proud of its position at the forefront
of all mobile technologies and todays announcement
is further evidence that our expertise stretches
from network infrastructure to handsets,
said ZTE Senior Vice President, Shi Lirong.
We have sold more than 12 million handsets
this year alone and we are confident that this
success will continue as we develop such world
leading phones as the F808.
ZTE plan ongoing developments of the phone, which
is being designed for Chinese and international
markets. Todays world breakthrough is the
latest mobile technology success for ZTE, whose
handset sales grew from 4.6 million last year
to more than 12 million this year. ZTE also previously
achieved the first detachable CDMA handset in
the world and the first Chinese dual-band GSM
handset in China.
ZTEs mobile pedigree includes a capability
to provide a total wireless solution, incorporating
CDMA, GSM and PHS. In CDMA alone, ZTE has supplied
more than 20 countries with over 12 million lines
throughout the world.
