4th February 2005 - Nokia has signed a WCDMA 3G network
expansion agreement with Far EasTone Telecommunications
Ltd. (FET) and its subsidiary Yuan-Ze in Taiwan, marking
a new customer for Nokia. The deal covers the delivery
of Nokia WCDMA 3G radio access network equipment and
services in central and southern Taiwan.
In addition the agreement also includes the Nokia NetAct
(TM) network and service management system and an extensive
range of services such as installation, commissioning,
integration, project management and care services. Deliveries
will begin immediately and the network is expected to
be operational in 2005.
"Following the merger with KGT, FET has gained
positive experience from our multi-vendor mobile network.
Entering the 3G multimedia era, FET will continue adopting
a multi-vendor strategy to allow us to provide the best
3G network quality in the market. We are happy to extend
our cooperation relationship with Nokia into 3G technology.
This cooperation will support us to roll out our 3G
networks and further differentiate our services offering,
which plays a crucial role in today's fast-changing
business environment," says Jan Nilsson, President
of Far EasTone.

Far EasTone Telecommunications Ltd owns the largest
GSM network in Taiwan carrying more than 6.5 million
subscribers nationwide and continuously pursuits service

profile and highest customer satisfaction rate in an
independent customer satisfaction survey in year 2003.
FET's data contribution to revenue takes the leading
position in the market. The recent merger with KG Telecom
(KGT) results in a broad positive implications in revenue
and expense synergies.

1998. For the year 2004, its audited revenue has reached
NT$ 40,670 million and its net income totaled NT$9,879
million. Far EasTone has about 370 points of sales nationwide.
