15th Febuary 2006 - NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight
regional subsidiaries announced today that they will
start selling the 3G FOMA NM850iG handset, which
works on DoCoMo's 3G FOMA network in Japan and W-CDMA,
GSM and GPRS networks overseas where DoCoMo's global
roaming services are available, beginning February 24,
2006.
Application to DoCoMo's WORLD WING 3G roaming
service is required to use the handset overseas for
voice calls, i-mode, videophone and short messaging
service (SMS).
The handset connects wirelessly with Bluetooth®
devices, including PCs for data synchronization and
connection to the Internet.
The NM850iG's CMOS camera offers effective resolution
of 1.23 mega pixels. Travelers will appreciate the phone's
calculator, which is configured to quickly convert currencies
and measurements. The clock is preset with the local
times of major cities around the world, and up to 15
cities can be displayed simultaneously on the stand-by
screen.
The handset will be available at all DoCoMo sales channels.
The price will be open (unfixed). It will come with
a standard kit including exclusive AC adapter, stereo
earphones with integrated microphone, USB cable, Nokia
PC Suite data link software and 32 MB RS-MMC memory
card.
