22nd March 2006 - T-Mobile Germany and ADAC,
Germanys leading mobility service provider, have
signed an exclusive cooperative agreement that will further
improve the range of mobility, navigation and safety services
on offer to T-Mobile subscribers. The first benefit of
the new partnership for T-Mobile subscribers will be the
"ADAC Mobile Services" application for SDAs
and MDAs giving them very convenient access to ADAC telephone
information services. ADAC Mobile Services and the T-Mobile
NaviGate navigation solution are preinstalled on the SDA
II, which T-Mobile is offering immediately as a package
deal with the NaviGate BlueKit at the special price of
just EUR 1. Furthermore, from 1 March to 31 May 2006 the
usual charges for the NaviGate routes will not apply at
T-Mobile. |
As Dirk Backofen, Head of Business Marketing at T-Mobile
Germany, said, "The cooperation agreement with ADAC allows
us to add the perfect finishing touches to our information
and navigation services for motorists. In addition to offering
NaviGate and TomTom as navigation solutions for mobile telephones,
we are now providing simple access to ADACs targeted,
personalized mobility and advice services, giving customers
a safe and stress-free journey."
The ADAC Mobile Services application gives T-Mobile subscribers
easy mobile access to ADAC telephone information services,
whether they are looking for the fastest route or whether
they break down on the motorway. Drivers and passengers can
call the advice service they need via ADAC Mobile Services
with just a few clicks and without having to enter any numbers.
The application is available with a Windows user interface
for the SDA, SDA II, MDA II, MDA III and the MDA compact.
There is an added bonus for T-Mobile subscribers who use the
T-Mobile NaviGate navigation system with their PDA telephones:
with just one click they send details of where they are by
SMS text message to the ADAC advisor during the telephone
conversation. The advantage of this is that the advisor can
provide quicker and more precise assistance. In addition to
this breakdown service, ADACs traffic jam, travel and
parking information services are available via the mobility
portal. The ADAC dynamic parking information provides up-to-the-minute
information on available parking spaces and the parking fees
in countless towns and cities in Germany. T-Mobile subscribers
can download the software for the ADAC Mobile Services at
no extra cost at www.t-mobile.de/adac. The telephone information
services of ADAC are subject to charges.
To mark the launch of their cooperation the partners are
offering the T-Mobile SDA II including ADAC Mobile Services
and NaviGate as a package deal with the NaviGate BlueKit for
just EUR 1. The SDA II is a compact mobile telephone with
webnwalk Internet access, megapixel camera, a
large color display and a wide range of organizer functions.
The accessories include the complete hardware required for
comfortable use of the NaviGate navigation system - from the
GPS mouse for the satellite positioning (Global Positioning
System) and charger leads to the car holder for the SDA II.
The offer applies with a 24-month contract in the Relax 100
rate and while supplies last.
Right on time for the start of the special partnership offer,
T-Mobile is launching the NaviGate test weeks: from 1 March
to 31 May 2006 the flat rate of EUR 1.99 per route calculated,
including possible updates, will no longer apply. Customers
only have to pay the costs of the mobile data transmission
according to the rate applicable. T-Mobile also has attractive
data options with inclusive volumes to offer. T-Mobile NaviGate
turns mobile telephones like SDAs and MDAs into mobile navigation
centers: based on up-to-date maps and up-to-the-minute traffic
information, NaviGate guides motorists to their destination
along the best route, comfortably bypassing traffic jams wherever
possible. And the navigation system not only works nationwide
across Germany, it is also available for Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, France, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands,
Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain
and the Czech Republic. NaviGate is an online navigation system;
the navigation data are transmitted via GPRS (General Packet
Radio Service) from the T-Traffic telematics headquarters
direct to users mobile telephones.
