21st June 2006 - Ikivo AB, a provider of SVG software solutions
for mobile devices, recently announces that Ikivo Animator
is to support the new Mobile SVG 1.2 industry standard. Ikivo
Animator is one of the first tools to support Mobile SVG 1.2,
enabling rich multimedia content for handheld and mobile devices.
Already shipped in more than 100 million devices, SVG is
the leading vector graphics technology for mobile phones.
The new version of Mobile SVG 1.2 combines interactivity with
audio and video to enable a more real, rich media experience.
"We are seeing an increasing demand for the Ikivo MultiMedia
player which supports Mobile SVG 1.2. With Ikivo Animator
now also supporting the same standard, developers can test
and deploy rich media based services," said Magnus Zetterberg,
VP Sales & Marketing, Ikivo AB.
In addition to supporting initial audio and video capabilities
for playback and previewing of multimedia content and raster
image import (JPG, PNG), Ikivo Animator is also JSR226 enabled.
JSR226 uses Mobile SVG to bring scalability to J2ME applications,
enabling on-time development and removing the need for re-authoring
content or optimising for different device screen sizes. SUN
NetBeans(tm), recently integrated into Ikivo Animator, offers
further SVG support to the extensive Java development community.
NetBeans provides a reusable framework to simplify the development
of Java applications.
Ikivo Animator 2.0 will ship by the end of July. Ikivo is
committed to evolving Animator to support more advanced rich
media content as the use of Mobile SVG 1.2 becomes more prolific.
Demonstrations of the Ikivo's integrated SVG solutions will
take place at CommunicASIA Hall 4; stand G1-07 from the 20th
to 23rd June 2006.
