30th June 2006 - Contentment – one of London’s most experienced
digital content makers – has helped develop the format for
3’s World Cup offering, ‘Berlin or Bust’, which launched on
9th June.
 |
The programme, which is fronted by Sam Delaney,
is an irreverent and entertaining look at the tournament,
providing fans with previews and reviews of every days
action. Each night Sam Delaney will present alongside
footballing legends Ray Wilkins and Les Ferdinand plus
a host of football-loving celebrities guests, from Bez,
to Michelle Marsh, to Aldo Zilli. Berlin or Bust
will offer a riotous magazine alternative to traditional
football TV shows.
3 customers will be able to tune into two daily editions
of Berlin or Bust a Preview and a Review
both timed to keep fans entertained whilst on their
way to watch games or on their way back from the pub.
The show will be available free to all 3 customers throughout
the tournament.

The shows will feature video diaries from each nation's most
colourful and eccentric fans, daily reports from Ally McCoist
in Germany and exciting competitions with match tickets up
for grabs.
Sam Delaney, Contentment partner and Berlin or Bust
presenter, said: Developing concepts for such a tiny
screen pushes you creatively you cant rely on
big visuals to do the entertaining, so the gags have to be
simple and smart. It's no good just making a conventional
TV show and shrinking it down to mobile size. You have to
bear in mind that the viewing experience is more intimate
people are often watching the show on the bus or the
toilet and listening through headphones.
Everything from the set to the presenting style has to be
toned-down and understated.
NB: Filming and content management is being executed by etv
(formerly known as enteraction tv): the UKs leading
player in the New Television, providing an end-to-end solution
for new market entrants in digital media.
