22nd July 2006 - Actix announced that it is the first optimization
company to offer mobile operators a state-of-the-art 3.5G
simulation and optimization solution that supports a High
Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) capability.
HSUPA is a data access protocol for mobile phone networks
with extremely high upload speeds - up to 5.76 Mbit/s - allowing
faster data transfer rates, and enabling consumers to quickly
download and view high-quality content to mobile devices.
Actix' new solution, which forms part of the Radioplan optimisation
and simulation product line, will enable mobile network engineers
to investigate network design and optimization issues related
to HSUPA, including:
- planning HSUPA parameters, options, and coverage;
- estimating uplink data rate enhancements due to the use
of the
Enhanced-DCH (E-DCH) in a live UMTS network;
- understanding the influence of new HSUPA downlink channels
on
downlink performance;
- learning how HSDPA and HSUPA can be used together to greatest
effect.
Commenting on the introduction, Johannes Huebner ( inset
), the Radioplan Product Line Director, said: "Actix
is first to market with this very advanced technical solution,
sustaining the company's position as the technical leader
in the performance optimisation market. This solution will
help mobile operators to achieve their targets with respect
to growing their networks and assist in their ability to offer
faster connections and advanced services to their subscribers."
