27th October - Eamon Dunphy, Ireland’s infamous and
most talked-about sports pundit has signed a ground-breaking
deal to present Ireland’s first “made for mobile” TV
series - exclusively on the 3 mobile media network.

“Dunphy’s Last Word on Football”, fronted
by Ireland’s most opinionated sports commentators,
will give 3’s customers the low-down on what people
are really talking about in the Premiership that week.

Filmed in Dunphy’s own sitting-room, the show will stream
to mobile every Monday, with a pre-weekend teaser on Fridays,
covering the hot topics on and off the pitch.
In another first, 3’s customers are invited to go head-to-head
with Dunphy with their own video punditry. 3 will also bring
back Dunphy’s legendary weekend bet, only available on
3. With other showstoppers such as ‘Spoofer of the week’
and the latest sporting scandals presented in Dunphy’s
own inimitable style, 3’s new mobile sports show promises
to be must-see TV and one of the most talked about shows in
the land.
Commenting from the comfort of his sofa, Dunphy said: "3
is offering the armchair pundit the chance to take part in
the football debate, wherever they are. Now you don't need
to be stuck at home in front of the TV to know exactly what's
happening on and off the pitch. I'm looking forward to broadcasting
my views to a new mobile audience and for the first time I'll
be giving Irish football fans a chance to have the last word
with their own video comments. Join me on 3 for the real action

Speaking on the launch of the new show, David Riley, 3’s
Head of Entertainment said: “There’s no-one quite
like Dunphy and this is the first show of its kind in Ireland,
brought to our viewers from Dunphy’s own front room.
Only 3 would create something quite so edgy and entertaining
and offer it to our customers for free. This is an exciting
new development for Irish media as 3 creates the first Irish
TV show made for a mobile audience.”
3 adds the new Dunphy sports show to its line-up of great
entertainment including The Hive fronted by Tom Dunne, the
best of Father Ted and Barclays Premiership highlights. Since
launch, over 60% of 3’s customers download 3’s music,
sport and entertainment video.
