3rd January - 5Fad has signed a partnership contract with
BrainMedia LLC. (Music Hookup) to lead the market by launching
a mobile streaming service and enabling customers in China to
enjoy 3G quality services on their existing 2.5G data network.
Currently, 5Fad has released a Music Wireless Search and Music
Streaming Service and will be beta testing in a controlled test
group environment. Users only need to download the 5Player in
order to enjoy Stereo CD quality music from their mobile handset.
As reported, this service will fill gaps in Chinas mobile
streaming data offering.
This Mobile Music Service will greatly enhance the development
of the mobile streaming service market. 5Fad is the 1st company
in China that has launched a Music Streaming Service over
the existing 2.5G Network.
5Fad is an internet entertainment company in China and is
the holder of the largest number of original music copyrights.
It controls 80% of the original music market in China. 5Fad
provides the rich content resource for this partnership. BrainMedia
is the leading provider of a codec technology for low bit-rate
encoding and has developed a platform specifically designed
for wireless music delivery. BrainMedias technology
enables the user to create high quality audio content at the
lowest bit-rate available for Chinas current 2.5G wireless
network. This capability allows mobile users to enjoy multimedia
programs from their handset at any time and anywhere. It will
allow users in China to start enjoying 3G quality service
on the existing 2.5G network.
Both 5Fad and BrainMedia have great confidence on this trans-national
cooperation. Duanping Wu, CEO of 5Fad, said, China is
the biggest wireless communication market, having over 500
million mobile subscribers, achieving above 40% of the global
market share. The Mobile Music market is estimated to grow
its revenue over tens of billions RMB. With the 3G deployment,
more and more domestic companies will enter this market and
face fierce competition. Now 5Fad has actively seized the
1st position in the 2.5G Mobile Streaming Service Market.
So its future will be very promising. Jim Herbert, CEO
of BrainMedia, added, The mobile handset has become
the focus of the personal multimedia experience. This 5Fad/BrainMedia
Mobile Streaming Service is one of the most important developments
for the wireless value-added service industry. We look forward
to joining 5Fad in opening up Chinas vast market and
become the leader in this market.
As reported, the official commercial release of the Mobile
Streaming Music Service using the 5Player will be in the first
quarter of 2007.
