| 31st October - GEOCELL, the leading
GSM operator of Georgia, has launched 3G services based on the convergent solution
from CBOSS.
Striving to meet ever growing market requirements and increase
customer base in the highly competitive environment, GEOCELL has expanded its
service portfolio with innovative 3G services. The launch of GEOCELLs 3G
network in 2006 did not require any investment in the IT infrastructure due to
the convergent CBOSS solution providing full-scale support of next generation
networks. We focus on the state-of-the-art services, providing customers
not only with superb quality, but also with great entertainment and leisure opportunities.
That is why it was really important for us to switch to 3G as fast as possible,
said Haydar Kizildag, CTO at GEOCELL. The solution from CBOSS did not require
any upgrade to support our 3G network allowing GEOCELL to reduce both costs and
time of the project implementation. GEOCELL has been using the convergent
CBOSS solution based on the CBOSSbcc Billing and Customer Care system since 1999,
constantly adding new products and options. Now the solution comprises 13 systems
including the short message service center CBOSSsms, decision support system CBOSSdss,
Internet customer care service CBOSSics, automatic customer care system CBOSSacc.
The bonus management system CBOSSbonus allows GEOCELL to award and encourage subscribers
to try new services by offering more beneficial and comfortable payment conditions
to active users. Coupled with other value added services from CBOSS, CBOSSbonus
helped the company increase its subscriber base by 37.5 percent year-on-year in
2007 and boost customer loyalty. Today, GEOCELL offers around 100 services to
more than 1.3mln customers. Advanced functionality of the convergent
solution from CBOSS allowed GEOCELL to become the acknowledged leader of the Georgian
