New Publishing System for Nokia S60 Mobile Phones [Back to News Reports]

5th January - The Swedish company Mobycator launches Mobypal – a media publishing system for Nokia S60 Series. From now you can store photos and videos on the web, whenever you want, wherever you are, using your mobile phone!
Share your photos and videos – it is simple and free

“Mobypal is a very easy to use, free mobile phone application that enables the users to immediately publish their media, recorded on their mobile phones”, says Martin Eriksson, CEO and founder of Mobycator AB.

Photos and videos can be recorded directly by using the Mobypal application or by using the phone’s built in camera/video recorder. When a video clip has been shot, users can store the material on the Mobypal server and, at will, publish it on the Internet.

“There are two levels of publishing”, says Mr. Eriksson. “Either you keep your clips and photos private, as a back-up or an on-line family album, or you make the material public on Mobypal.com, in order to get comments and cheers from other users and viewers”.

The community at www.Mobypal.com focuses on every day moments that users capture on film or photo and which they want to share with each other. Users will not be met by any copyrighted material; instead they will get a glimpse into what’s important in other people’s lives for the moment.

The application uses WLAN, 3G or Edge to upload videos and photos and takes full advantage of the resolution capacity of the new generation cameras that high-end mobile phones have today. And, also important, there is no need lessen the quality of the media when being published, one of the limitations that the MMS standard suffers from.

Furthermore, the Mobypal team has developed a Face book plug-in. By categorizing pictures or videos as ’blog’ when uploaded, the material will be redirected to the user’s Face book account, after having installed the plug-in. So, now the user can easily and free create a video blog on Face book.

“We have also released a simpler version of Mobypal”, Mr Eriksson continues. “It is a Java version that is adapted to other phone brands, for example the SonyEricsson phones. This version does not have the camera functions, but offers the on-line storing and publishing parts of the application. We hope that this version will come in handy for users that own other brands and models”.

In order to download and install the Mobypal application go to www.mobypal.com.
