| 1st May - Anritsu has introduced
three new options that make its BTS Master and Spectrum Master families the first
complete TD-SCDMA handheld test solutions for deploying, installing, and maintaining
TD-SCDMA networks now being deployed in China. With the options, it is claimed
that field engineers, technicians, and contractors can accurately, quickly and
easily make RF, demodulation, and over-the-air (OTA) measurements on TD-SCDMA
signals. The TD-SCDMA RF measurement option offers a suite of test tools,
including channel spectrum and power vs time. The channel spectrum view shows
the shape of the transmitter and displays the signal's channel power and occupied
bandwidth. In addition, it displays the channel power and occupied bandwidth of
the left and right channels. A power vs time view displays the power over one
frame of the signal, or can zoom in to a slot selected by the user. In the frame
view, individual slot powers are also displayed. Numerical results displayed include
channel power, UpPTS (uplink) power, DwPTS (downlink) power, on/off ratio, slot
peak-to-average ratio and the downlink - uplink delta power. TD-SCDMA demodulation
measurements are used to measure the modulation performance of the selected Node
B transmitter's signal. With the demodulation measurement option, the BTS Master
and Spectrum Master can display code domain power (CDP) data screen and demod
summary screens. The CDP data screen displays the power of the 16 codes of a demodulated
TD-sSCDMA signal. The code domain power and code domain error of the codes are
displayed as a bar graph. Other measurement results include slot power; frequency
error in Hz, EVM and peak EVM; DwPTS power; Tau; noise floor; carrier feed through;
and peak code domain error. OTA measurements provide a way to monitor all
32 user codes outside a base station. Spectrum Master displays the codes in two
formats sorted by codes or by Tau, indicating distance from a base station. Code
scan view displays all 32 codes in a bar graph with their individual Ec/Io and
Tau. The code scan view also displays the DwPTS power and the pilot dominance.
The Tau scan displays the code power in the Y axis and the Tau in the X axis.
In addition, a table below the graph displays six of the strongest codes sorted
by power. A record feature where measurement data can be logged automatically
along with GPS information is also available with the option. All three
options can be used with the MT8222A BTS Master, and the Spectrum Master MS2721B,
MS2723B, and MS2724B analyzers. Weighing less than nine pounds, the MT8222A is
claimed to be the smallest, lightest, and most economical handheld solution for
complete 2G/3G/4G base station testing. The MS2721B, MS2723B, and MS2724B are
claimed to be the most advanced ultra-portable 7.1GHz, 13GHz, and 20GHz spectrum
analyzers on the market, weighing in at less than 7 pounds.
