First organisations join SitexOrbis partnership to add-on lone worker protection sales [Back to News Reports]

8th January - The first 15 organisations have joined a strategic business partnership to re-sell lone worker protection set up by leading provider SitexOrbis in October (2009).

Partners are to sell the Code5 brand. The application runs on any network and on virtually any mobile phone, thereby creating significant opportunities for many to boost revenue and increase customer retention.

The service is keenly priced in order to grow the company’s base of 10,000 lone worker connections substantially. End users can pay as little as £1 a week, one of the lowest rates available for such an advanced level of protection.

Business partners receive a significant slice of the revenue for the life-time of customers’ connections, sold in 3 to 24 month packages. No fee is charged for becoming a business partner.

Simon Wainewright, head of SitexOrbis lone worker protection, said: “The strategy is to provide partners with a high-profile differentiator and a ‘sticky’ product that is good for customer retention and an excellent revenue generator.

“The package is easy to sell, implement and manage for customers. Plus we are taking a collaborative approach to ensure that partners and their customers have all the support they need, including presentations and implementation tools accessible via our secure e-commerce portal and website.”

Code5® can be set up on almost any mobile phone, PDA, BlackBerry® or Symbian smartphone. Essentially, a speed dial on a five key or a hardware button connects to the company’s UK-based BS 5979 Cat II alarm receiving centre. Here 24/7 operators trained to assess critical situations locate callers using mobile technology and summon the appropriate support to the incident, including the emergency services where necessary.

DVD audio-recordings made of all incidents have helped achieve several prosecutions by placing perpetrators irrefutably at the scene and demonstrating the full force of verbal attacks.

The importance of protecting lone workers is driven heavily by health and safety legislation and related court cases, the new corporate manslaughter act that came in to force in 2008, and a genuine desire to give staff at risk peace of mind.
